Hey all...great thread...The song that got me into U2...I was aware
of U2 for years before the Joshua Tree, having borrowed Under a Blood
Red Sky from a friend and listening intently to Pride when it came out.
It just wasn't enough to get me out to buy an album. Then came the
Joshua Tree...and I was away at summer camp and one of the guys played
the album for me...Running to Stand Still hooked me. I was in love. I
had to have it. I went out and bought it days after I got home, and I
finally bought Under a Blood Red Sky the same day (finally!!) Wore out
the Running to Stand Still section of the tape...and loved the rest of the
album as well...except I would never listen to Streets...it annoyed me...It
wasn't until seeing it live that I grew to appreciate that one!!!
