It's Sunday evening and I'm drivin' to the laundromat. Channel surfing
on the car radio and I find "The Sweetest Thing." Cool! Song ends and DJ
comes on and says "Bono wrote that song for his daughter's birthday."
Screeeeech of car brakes as I pull over to the nearest pay phone. He
answers:
Me: "I just wanted to let you know that the song was actually written
for Bono's wife, not his daughter."
DJ: "Well, it says right here that it began as a song for his
daughter's birthday."
Me: "No, it was for his wife, Ali. His daughter wasn't even born yet."
DJ: "But it says right here that it was for his daughter."
Me: "No, he wrote it because he missed his wife's birthday while he was
working on 'The Joshua Tree' album. His first daughter wasn't even born
until '89.
DJ: (still not sounding too convinced - idiot!) Well, you sure know a
lot about them."
Me: "That's an understatement."

(who, along with David Way ;), is greatly annoyed by erroneous
information)

"I hear voices, ridiculous voices....get your head out of the mud,
baby"
