Chris,

It's good to know that you agree that U2 will be back, but I must also
(like many) disagree with your post.

I'm 15, making 4 when JT came out. Obviously, I was much to young to
even SAY music at the time. Then, AB came out and so did Zooropa. Then
Pop. Let me say that those three albums are "my" U2. The 90's U2 is
the U2 that I grew up with and love. I think the lyrics that Bono has
written in the past 8 years has been his best work.

No emotion? I think earlier on when I read 'At the End of the World',
Bono was saying something about 'putting on masks' to be able to tell
people the same things they always had, but only in a more tactful,
ironic sense. I went to the Melbourne PopMart and beLIEve me, there
was MOUNTAINS of emotion, passion and feeling. Even if you didn't go
to a PopMart show, you only have to watch the video of 'Please' live
to know the amount of passion in Pop.

>I hope I never see "Mr. MacPhisto" again......Bono's >poke of jeering
insult
>at the devil himself. For those of you who like "Mr. >MacPhisto",
you just don't get it, IMHO.

In my opinion, MacPhisto is perhaps one of the coolest people yet to
grace the earth, and trust me, I 'get' U2. I know what they are about,
although every move they make, I have to reassure myself. AND THAT'S
THE GREAT THING ABOUT THEM.

My only regret about U2 is that I wasn't around to be able to see them
during the JT era, or even notice them for that matter.

Dave
