Rattle and Hum?

something weird happend to me today. i was in a used cd store, looking
for good used cds, and i happened upon a cd which claimed to be Rattle and
Hum, but the thing was, it did not have the normal paper booklet. instead it
had what looked like a cut-out from the cover of a vinyl version. the words
"Rattle and Hum" were sideways, and all you could see of that wonderful
picture of bono lighting up edge's guitar, was bono's head. the rest was cut
off. so, of course, i asked the nice lady at the counter to please let me see
the inside of the case, and i looked and it was as i had suspected. the cover
was some kind of cardboard which was obviously cut with scissors to fit into
the cd case. weird huh.
then i noticed the cd, which was unlike my Rattle and Hum cd. whereas
normal RnH cds are black with white lettering, on this cd, the black part was
now kinda a dull gray, and it was like they forgot to fill in the lettering
with ink. you could see the actual cd right through it. in addition to that,
around the circumference was a strip that was about a half inch wide and kind
gold colored. and there was some sort of message printed on this strip (dang
i forgot what it said)
so the point of the story is: what did i find? some special promo? a
bootleg? a special edtion? if so, i'll go back and buy it, just for kicks :)
i expect that some of you completists might recognize this cd, so email
me or post or whatever, just please be kind enough to let me know, kay?

its thanksgiving, so dont forget to be thankful for the greatest band ever,
U2!!
don't let the bastards grind you down,
kris
