<<Well, for the record IMHO it doesn't sound like this doctor friend is too
reputable. I mean even if this ridiculous story was true, obviously he
shouldn't be blabbing it around. Anyway, yeah, I'm sure U2 would really let
some local town "doctor" stroll right into their dressing room. So what else
did he see on the ZOOTV and POPMART tours ? Please enlighten us. Or maybe
you just "lied alot" like in ariston's post.... Ya know, now that I think
about it I did see Bono sniffling and wiping his nose alot... >>

Okay, whomever you are (coward for not signing a name to your post). First
let me explain that Nico, has absolutly nothing to gain by publicly lying on a
mailing list to thousands of U2 fans. She was just relaying information to
you (plural -- wire in general) which she received from a person she is
familiar with since she is a part of the music industry, and gets around a bit
(not in the biblical sense, but you know what I mean). You may believe it,
you may not believe. That is your choice. But don't even start to compare
Nico to some of the trash on Wire just because you fail to believe something
which may or may not be true.

I prefer to believe that U2 are not into that sort of thing, however, as you
all well know Mr. Clayton (who is still the love of my life) had a very
unfortunate dealing (ahem) with drugs and alchol in the past. There is no
reason to think that the rest of the band at one point did not do the same.
And again there is no reason to condem the rest of the members with guilt by
association. The only real thing you have to go by is what you see. And as
you so appropriatly ended your post ... "everything you know is wrong."

I like to believe that Nico and I are good friends, and I am glad that I met
her and was able to take that trip to Dublin with her. Let me just say, she
is a great person, and if I hear of anyone trying to screw her, or tarnish her
good name on this list, you will have picked one hell of a fight. A fight you
will lose.

In the name of Sparky,
Shannon Carey-Thorpe

Ps.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
I'm thankful that we all have at least one thing
in common!
Irish.
