Well - actually, I wasn't concerned about whether or not Mr Joanou used
drugs but about whether he or anyone else who was not a member of the band
were allowed to walk into the band's dressing room unannounced. Which I
doubt was allowed at least by the time of the Joshua Tree tour...maybe in
the band's early days strangers could waltz around backstage anywhere they
pleased, but not by the time U2 was being featured on major magazine covers
and Bono was getting death threats. So that is why I doubt Nico's friend's
(_not_ Nico, her _friend_) story the more I think on it. He may (and I am
speculating wildly so don't take offense -- I could be way off the mark!)
have noticed her devotion to the band, and in the way I have seen other guys
do may have decided to tell a "tall tale" to bring them (the band) down a
peg or two in her eyes.
