In 1987, most of the media, especially in Britain, regarded Bono as a
pompous arsehole. I find it impossible to believe that if there was even
the slightest suspicion that Bono was taking any drugs, that the tabloids
would not have got hold of it. After all, they are not going to let
someone who has made a large part of his career out of publicly criticising
drug use, to get away with such hypocracy.
