Idolize v: love unquestioningly and uncritically

The main thing we all have in common here is that we all, to some
extent, idolize one or all of the members of U2. Through all of this
"skag-head" bickering, I have tried to figure out just why we seem to be so
adamant in our beliefs about what the band does or doesn't do. I, however,
cannot come to any clear conclusion. The only thing any of us knows for sure
is why we feel the way we do about this band.

I idolize U2 and I'm not ashamed to admit it. The reason I use the word
idolize is because I love U2's music and I do not question or criticize any
decision they make musically. The only way I can describe the way I feel
about this music is profound love and admiration for the music and it's
creators. The music that these four men bring to us inspires me, questions
me, humbles me, humors me, intrigues me, amazes me and soothes me. Most of
all, this music, opens me up to myself. I will always love U2 for this.

The individual members of the band are a whole different story I know. I
could write volumes of how my passion for Bono alone is on the verge of
idolatry. LOL. I respect and admire each member of U2. Their passion is the
main thing that I love about them, their passion for their music and their
beliefs. I love how they do what pleases them and what they think is right
rather than doing what they think everyone wants or expects. I love the way
that they aren't afraid to look like assholes for doing whatever it is that
makes them happy or for standing up for what they believe in. I may not
agree with everything that they think or do, outside of their music, but I
respect them and their choices. My personal world is a better place because
of U2 and their music. Isn't yours? Why do you love U2?

Amy.

One day I'll be back, I hope I remember where it's at...
