Ok, dug out my Rolling Stone #761 from May 29, 1997. On pg. 58 Bono says:

"I went to see the doctor afterward, and he said, 'There's nothing wrong
with you. You have what we call an eccentric heart.'
Bono laughs and winds up for the punch line: "I just looked at him and
said, ' I could have told you that.' "

I have read elsewhere that Bono has an irregular heartbeat, too. Can't
recall where off of the top of my head. The reason that this fact sticks in
my mind is because I also have an irregular heartbeat. It is a very common
affliction that affects 10% of the population, my cardiologist said and it
is not serious or life threatening. It is, however, annoying at times.
Personally, I can't drink anything with caffiene in it or it sets it off.
Stress or too many late nights will make it act up too. Different things
would trigger it for different people. Bono would certainly get to know
what would set it off for him. Maybe red wine made it flare up for him, as
Lillith said in her post, who knows. *I* can drink red wine! ;o)

Anyway, enough of boring you with *my* "eccentric heart" stories! I guess
what I want to say here is if you have a minor heart condition like Bono
apparently has, you just have to be careful. But it is scary as hell before
you find out what is wrong with you, with your heart flipping out at times.
And in all honesty, I don't think someone with this condition could/should
do cocaine. But Bono obviously lived for years totally unaware that he had
this condition (as did I) so......who knows.......and more importantly *who
cares?*

Let's just be thankful for the music, the words, the band that is U2!

Faith, hope and *LOVE*,
