Bono question (NOT about drugs!!!)

I was at the mall starting my once-a-year-shopping-trip when I went into a book
store and went to the music section to see if that new U2 tour book was there.
It wasn't, but a book of all the covers of Rolling Stone magazine was. Like a
good fan, I picked it up and flipped through to find the U2 ones. So cute! But
anyway, there was this little blurb next to their first appearance on the cover
(back in '85ish, all four guys in black, Bono with a hat... maybe you know
which I'm talking about). Anyway, it said something like people seemed to
really identify with this band, though the attraction didn't seem to be cuz of
their looks. Said none of the band looked like they had never seen the inside
of a gym and Larry was the only one who could be classified as a "Cute Guy."

Alright, maybe you know by now and maybe you don't, but I think Bono is the
most beautiful man in the world. Apparently, from reading Wire and getting
messages from other Wirelings, I'm not the only one who thinks so, but what
gives with RS? Or non-fans for that matter? Is this conception of Bono a
fan-related one? Do you have to be a fan to think he's all that? I posted a
poll to some friends (non-U2 addicts, save one :)) and got *flamed* for naming
Bono as my #1 man. Is it just U2 addicts that see this in him, or what?

I haven't always been a U2 fan. Just always thought they were cool. But back in
grade school when JT came out, I thought they were cool and all and Bono had a
cool voice AND I thought he was kinda cute. Over the years, as I became
absolutely crazy about their music, Bono stopped being "cute." Now he's "oh,
sooo beautiful." Can't remember what I really thought back then. I don't know
if I would think he's so gorgeous if I wasn't such a FAN of their music.

Anyone care to help me out with this? Sorry to do this to the guys, but I kinda
gotta know what some of ya girls think. Thanks ahead of time for any feedback.

Rose
