Life after U2...

Is there possible life after U2?

Maybe there is. I know there is...for The Edge!

MINISTRY anyone? Does Alien Jourgensen and Paul Barker ring a bell?
Well, they still continue what U2 have started ages ago---hardline
politics and social activism through music. A kind of inculturation
through the power of mass media propaganda. Don't expect "Joy." This is
not for the weak at heart. Now, I would not be surprised to see The Edge
form an aggro-industrial band after all the Hype and Feedback have gone
to past. I remember Achtung Baby was very much inspired by bands with
raw industrial sounds such as, KMFDM, Insekt, Nitzer Ebb, NIN...and
especially MINISTRY. In fact, I know that Bono was inspired by
Jourgensen's rantings of "fuck the Police, fuck Noriega, Fuck Tipper
Gore, Fuck YOU..." at the conclusion of "Stigmata" that he(Bono) even
tried it at a London Zooropa concert in '93...where he declared "f__ck
you Germany, f__ck you United Kingdom, f__ck you United Nations..." at
the blazing conclusion of "Bullet the Blue Sky." So, there's definitely
a connection and a possiblity of life after U2 in the industrial
soundscape. How about Jourgensen/Biafra/Barker and The Edge? How about
that for a band lineup? Maybe the Edge will "pop" up in a future
MINISTRY album under a different name. Anything is Possible!!

As for Bono, he'll probably become a clergyman and really get involved
in ministry...those guys are really strange (just teasing!?) The other2,
well there's always Mission Impossible adventure movie soundtracks being
put together.

So Believe,

Alfred
