Hello there Wirefolk,

I just uploaded a Bonus mp3 for your enjoyment.. it's the London ZooTV
version of Bad with Shankar on electric violin. Feel free to download..
just change the .bin file extension to .mp3 before playing.

One Tree Hill live from Dublin's Point Depot, January 1 1990 is still up
there.

And has anyone else noticed that U2 is everywhere lately? I mean, not
just because of the Best Of album. Or maybe it is, who knows? I was
just flipping through the new issue of SPIN (the one with ever-glamorous
[especially from far away, Elena testifies] Shirley Manson on the cover)
and saw four "U"s and "2"s, all in pairs but on different pages.
Matchbox20 was talking about U2 being a major influence, the Chemical
Brothers and a reviewer were having fisticuffs over the "new" dance
music and mentioned dance remixes of U2, and the POPmart video was
mentioned somewhere..

And then. That billboard. The one in NYC. I am telling you, never
have I had a more wonderful heart attack. I knew the huge advert's
general vicinity, but I was walking down Bond St (which, if you're in a
really good U2 mood and lack strong enough contact lenses, looks like
BONO ST on the sign), and I rounded the corner onto Lafayette, and I.
Stopped. Breathing. I couldn't help it. There was just this big
enormous "U" and a humongous "2" and Peter Rowan in a helmet and the
words "The Best of 1980-90" and they were all together on this gigantic
advertisement lit up for all of New York to see.

And I walked around for an hour with this dumb smile on my face.

Well, wouldn't you?

in large capital letters,
AMANDA
