I don't know the "one man caught on a barbed wire fence or one man he
riseist...but I have heard that "one man washed up on an empty beach" is a
reference to Saul(Paul) of Demascus Road and the instance in Acts 27 when he
and his crew were shipwrecked on the way to Rome...39,41" When daylight came,
they did not recognize the land, but they saw a bay with a sandy beach, where
they decided to run the ship aground if they could. But the ship struck a
sandbar and ran aground." anyway when they get their on shore, Paul amazes
the people of Malta..with being able to be bit by a snake and show no
effects...
Also I think the one man he resist might be a reference to the peaceful
resistance of Ghandi....
