Chart News - good news!

I just checked out billboard.com and for the week ending Dec. 19, U2's
"Best Of/Bsides" is now certified as platinum! At the rate it is
going, it will definitely outsell "Pop". Also, Alanis hasn't recieved
such certification yet. What could be the reason for this when Alanis
has always been ahead of U2 in Billboard? Maybe Alanis didn't have
her album certified by the RIAA yet and U2 did.

Also, Sweetest Thing has moved from #10 to #9 in the modern rock
tracks. The common cliche all the chart analysts like John would say
in Wire is that "pretty impressive considering that they never
released ST comercially as a single in the US." Well, I say pretty
impressive that it made it that high when ST id a hardly a rock track
and among all the tracks in the list, ST is the least edgy. Alanis is
nowhere to be found ..oh...thank u!

Also, U2 reclaims #1 from the Goo goo Dolls "Slide" in the MuchMusic
countdown

Cheers,

J
