I really don't think you could "overdramatize" that situation -- I mean,
the band came *extremely* close to breaking up during that period in
their lives, which, to me, is hugely significant.

And what amazes me is that when it came down to the final decision, Edge
was the last to decide, and instead of pleading with him, all Bono said
was for Edge to follow his heart. We all saw in the beginning of the
show, whe Bono said that early on, he knew this was how he wanted to
spend the rest of his life. For him to give Edge that final say,
without pleading or coaxing, says a lot about Bono as a person, and Bono
as a friend.
