U2 Raffles

I'm happy that Joel has kept this a relatively rule-free mailing list over
the years, but this kind of stuff has got to go. Stuff like this, legit or
not, will only lead to more and worse of it in the future. Simple contests
are acceptable in my opinion, but a raffle over the internet is pushing the
envelope of honesty. I'm not saying that this particular raffle is not an
honest one, but let's face it, this is purely a money making idea. I quote
from the post below.

WIRE is not a place to make money to pay off your criminal debts, no matter
how bad you may "need" it. I don't have a problem with an auction, or a
simple first-come first-serve sale, but a raffle is simply not a good idea
over the internet.
