Concerning when Vh-1 will re-broadcast Legends: they probably will ad
nauseum. However, it's not scheduled within this 2 week timeframe. Vh-1
posts 2 weeks of programming schedule on their site. You have to click Inside
Vh-1 at the top and then on the page you will see the words Programming
Schedule. They update their site faithfully every Monday. I did check for
next week and the show is not scheduled to air. MTV only has 1 week of
schedule on their site and they update it when they feel like it. Much Music
and Much More Music tend to show almost a full month of programming in advance
but they also tend to revise their program scheduling.

Sara and everyone else are absolutely right about not taking the June album
release news seriously. 3 sources have reported this (Dotmusic, Much Music,
and Rick Dees Top 40 show). But you know U2, they work on U2 time. I'm sure
they have a target date which may be this June timeframe (I mean most folks do
when working on a project). But don't start planning your summer vacation
around U2 quite yet (hence the huge Rumor in my initial e-mail). Plus
considering what was said during Legends about how rushed Pop was (and it
still was a great album), I hope they take all the time they need to finish up
the next one.

In an article re REM giving their fans an exclusive video single there is a
mention of U2.

In an recent interview, Stipe told myLAUNCH that Radiohead is one of the acts
that has offered a challenge to R.E.M. "One of the best things about being in
the position I'm in from the success we've attained is that I'm able to be
surrounded by people I find to be creative and artistic who make me think and
who challenge me in what I've been calling a sweetly competitive way," Stipe
said. "Courtney Love and Eric [Erlandson] and Melissa [Auf Der Maur] put out a
record with all these great songs. They piss me off they're so good. And I'll
call and go, 'God damn you for writing that. I'll see you one and raise you
one.' Radiohead, Patti Smith, U2, Bjork, Polly Harvey, Grant Lee Buffalo,
Hole--they inspire and challenge me and make me want to write better."

you may want to copy and paste that to get everything.

Finally, U2 came in #2 behind the Rolling Stones for Top Tour of '98. Notice
how the article title gives credit to RS and Garth Brooks in the title though.
Even Yanni beat out Garth. Though of course, figures like these really don't
give a true picture being based on just gross numbers. Full article is at:
