British-Irish... All of the above!

Hello,

U2 are both a British and an Irish band. Adam Clayton is British, his father
was a RAF Pilot. The Edge is Welsh. Bono and Larry are the only true Irish
decendents of the band. Notice that Bono is in favor of peace and an end to
the violence and troubles, but at no time has he made statements or done
actions that are anti-British. The beauty of the members in U2 in my eyes is
that it encompases three of the five major aspects of the United Kingdom and
Ireland : Republic of Ireland, Wales and England - which is identical to my
own lineage. (for the sake of clarity the other two are Northern Ireland and
Scotland)

Go back to the perrennial favorite, "The Unforgettable Fire" - my first
bible on U2. :-) The lineage of the boys is described nicely there. (and
doesn't our B-man look so sexy on the cover?!?)

Slaint'e,
Kelley
