That time of year has come again. I'm done with finals... and am alive to tell
the tale :) As TV stations are all switched to the destruction in Baghdad and
the mess in the House of Reps, it's Christmas time again. I remember Christmas
of '90... same thing in Baghdad. Deja vu or something. A guy from my church
died in the Gulf War then... how many more now? Maybe a friend. Maybe a college
classmate in the ROTC that graduated in December. Nice time to graduate. I hope
you don't get sent to the Gulf... like that one guy from my church. Nice way
bookend the decade.

Moving on here. 90 minutes of U2, one song from every album, which would it be?
Thanks Tanya!
Boy---> Out of Control
October---> Gloria
War---> New Year's Day
UABRS---> Party Girl!
UF---> The Unforgettable Fire
WAIA---> Bad (live)
JT---> One Tree Hill
R&H---> Pride (live)
AB---> Love is Blindness
Zooropa---> Stay
Pop---> If God Will Send His Angels
B-sides---> Dancing Barefoot

This is an older thread, but bear with me. Which songs would I wanna see U2
cover?
Yesterday (The Beatles)
Blowin' In the Wind (Bob Dylan)
Everybody Hurts (REM)
Secret Garden (Bruce Springsteen)

Which songs would I most wanna hear at a U2 concert, brought back from the dead
or whatever?
Bad
Running to Stand Still
Tomorrow
Love is Blindness (guitar has never sung better than during the solo here, and
        never will again)
Gloria (though this song really does belong to another time and another place
        and they made a good decision in dropping it from the live set.)
Walk to the Water

Which songs do I think it's time to drop?
Pride (it needs a rest. Please has taken its place)
Bullet the Blue Sky

I'm just adding in my 2 cents now that it's time to say goodbye. I'm going home
and will have to quit out of Wire for a month. Thanks, guys. Thanks for the
news (Prarit, Elizabeth Platt, Shannon C-T etc). Thanks for the boots etc.
Thanks for the feedback. Thanks for the disagreements, though they did get ugly
sometimes, they were fun. Thanks for the discussions. And those of you that
I've been e-mailing pretty regularly, you know who you are. Thank you and I
hope to hear from ya again come Jan 19th. Until then, I'll miss ya!

The bombs are blowing up in Baghdad, but have a Happy Christmas regardless. U2
is still around, that's reason enough.

Rose
