OK, this is a bit off of the beaten path, but hell, just try being an
American today, with the bombing and the impeachment thing.... I feel
like burning my passport!! :-) This situation $ucks$ big time. We do
indeed need a joke, and relax, folks, it's a (slightly re-written)
repeat of my U2 joke.

There is quite a bit of speculation over the disappearance of the tapes
and other objects crucial to U2's work on their next album. The thieves
were aliens who disappeared from sight minutes after the rip-off. The
mode of transport taken by the thieves hasn't been seen by anyone, so
it's a UFO. The Extraterrestrial Police are currently investigating
reports that the UFO looks like a huge lemon. Someone in Glasgow claimed
that he'd seen a large yellow object in the sky which could not possibly
be a star. His friends told him to see a shrink because they thought he
was hallucinating. However, others in the Glasgow area have called up
the newspapers with the same story and no one has told them they need
shrinks. In fact, two of these phone calls came from shrinks. The band
has gone to Glasgow to keep up with these developments. More news on
this truly strange event forthcoming as it becomes available.
