David's right, laughter is often what we use in the face of sadness or
insanity, it was what we used at our Christmas dinner table today as we
missed the wonderful presence of my grandmother...

My grandmother, death, Christmas, Nice, joy, exaltation, Wire, french
nuclear flame wars, U2... PopMart, faith, love, journeys, Kevin H, in
temptation, Darwin, desolation, Sydney, revelation... it's a musical
journey. ;)

U2 are not an isolated part of my life, they're a part of who I am, and
they and U2 fans have been integral to my journey over the past few years
especially. So at Christmas time it's time to give thanks, to Renaud, to
Catherine, to Nuala, to Flare, to Natalie, to Amy, to Mike and especially
to Kevin, all of whom have supported me these past difficult years. Wire
may constantly erupt with flames, but it's also filled with some truly
wonderful people.

Still hasn't found what she's looking for, but knowing that that's alright,
alright, alright,

Sharon

LOL!!!! That's glorious!!!! We've always known Canberra was a hole, but I
guess it took an outsider to clarify for us that it's really a bog. Just
so long as it's not an Irish bog, cos then it might be able to use the link
to lay claim as the Emerald city, and god help us all then! ;)

PPS: And Simon, there may have been 2 weeks in 1998 when people would pay
to have a hot shower in Melbourne, but at least we'll be able to say to our
grandchildren, "listen you young whippersnappers, during the gas crisis..."
