Bono, Cher, & The Twilight Zone

Merry Christmas!!!

There's been a lot of talk (maybe, maybe . . . I'll restrain myself) about
Bono & Cher on WIRE lately, so you can imagine my surprise when the two were
mentioned together today on New Orleans B-97, albeit on the silly Rick Dees
show. He just segued into the next segment (pieces of Cher talking, the
playing of "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)") by saying "Bono and Cher are
dancing out in the hall!" Of course, anyone who knows this show realizes that
he makes it all up (at least from what I could tell from 10 minutes of
listening). Still, it's fairly funny.

Let's see...some great albums from this year for me: U2's B-sides, Paula
Cole's This Fire, 3eb (kind of last years, I know), Goo Goo Dolls' Dizzy Up
the Girl, and surely more I can't think of right now.

And, oh yeah, I realized this year that Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road" is
one of the greatest songs ever written and that I can't sit down with my
guitar without playing it. Upon telling my ex-boyfriend how much I love the
song, he replied, "yeah, I guess Garth Brooks is pretty good." There's a
reason for that "ex."

p.s. best concert of the year--Third Eye Blind at Hammerstein Ballroom NYC
(2nd night). Those of you who read WIRE last week know why!
