Before I get the reputation as Wire's Anti-Political No-Brain From Hell,
well, surprise, surprise, I've been politically active since I was
sixteen. All during the '80's I went to demonstrations and meetings to
protest racism, Reagan's Latin American policy, nuclear weapons, you
name it. I hung around Trotskyists until I got tired of their cock-sure
attitudes. I have voted in every election since 1982. I've been involved
in the celebration of Martin Luther King's birthday celebrations, and
I'm proud that Birmingham, my home town, is the home of the Civil Rights
Institute.. Heck, my first U2 show was the "Conspiracy of Hope" tour in
1986. Who, me, anti-political? I just hate it when people start calling
people "stupid" and other such unflattering things because of a
difference of opinions. Think about it, democracy only works when we
tolerate diverse opinions. I didn't get into U2 strictly for the
politics, but that didn't hurt. It's their creativity that just blows my
mind.
OK, I'm off the soapbox.......by all means let's discuss politics if we
damn please. But no opinion is "stupid".

Pax,
Patricia
