I decided to wait a few days before posting the results (so far) of
the "Emerald City of Australia (aka, Oz)" due to the lack of
posters/readers during the Christmas weekend. Yes, this is a frivolous
post, in the true spirit of the happy holiday season. If you don't like
it, the scroll bar is on the right.
The results so far:
Sydney - 4
Melbourne - 3
Perth - 1
Brisbane - 1
Fremantle - 1
I will extend polling for two more days. Voting is open to readers of
Wire who live in or have visited Australia. The winner will be crowned
"The Emerald City of Oz, 1998" in the 19981231 edition of Wire. One vote
per subscriber, please (yes, I'm keeping track). Happy voting! :)

P.S. Someone (I think it was Samantha Wall, but I may be mistaken)
suggested that since we have "Oz" and "The Emerald City", shouldn't we,
by logical extention, also have a "Wizard"? Well, what do you think? I'm
game if you are! :)
