Actually, I don't believe you're correct here unless you have some
biographical information on Leigh Bowery that I'm not familiar with.
Leigh Bowery was a male performance artist originally from Australia
(born in 1961) who moved to London in the 1980s and began a career in
the club circuit. He hosted his own club during that time and was
known for his outrageous fashions (which he created himself) and his
performances. He even formed a band called Minty which had a number of
releases, although all but one of them were released after Bowery's
death on New Year's Eve in 1994 of complications due to AIDS. Yes, he
was gay. And he was also married to one of his collaborator in Minty.
But most of all, he was a talented individual who unfortunately died in
his prime.
