Writers I got N2 because of U2 ....

Hey, now that's a good thread!! Everybody got into Oscar Wilde because
of them, so I don't need to mention that. I also paid more attention to
Walt Whitman, Flannery O'Connor, and Stephen King because of U2. Maybe I
need to explain the King thing. "Desperation" could easily have been a
book based off a U2 song. It was about faith in crisis. The vision the
little boy has toward the end of the book is so U2, it's scary. You
guys'll have to read it for yourselves, because I don't have the book
here with me to post quotes and isn't that illegal anyway?

Has anyone read Wise Blood by Flannery O'Connor? For anyone who has, is
there any similarity between Hazel Motes and Adam Clayton? Or is there a
similarity between Enoch Emery and Bono? I haven't read it in awhile so
I could just be talking out my ear. I probably am anyway and will get
flamed for it like I did last time. Anyway, Wise Blood fits well with
"The Wanderer," "Wake Up Dead Man," and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm
Looking For."

Oh, just something I'm curious about. Are there any practicing Catholics
on Wire? Reading Flannery O'Connor has really gotten me interested and I
have a bazillion questions. Email me privately please.

Andrew
