Hey everyone!

R&H has taken over! Since there are other studio polling booths at this
site, I checked the other top vote getters. The only other top title
close to R&H is Star Wars!

Here's the current standings...

U2: Rattle and Hum (SE, DC) [809]

Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition (SE) [782]

So we have made R&H the most requested DVD at this site!

Here's the link if you haven't voted:

I thought I would post some info on this Paramount DVD poll. Since some
people have noticed that it is not the official Paramount site, that it
won't do any good, I took the following info from the DVD File page...

snip...

The Purpose Of The Request Infoline

Since one of the biggest concerns of DVD enthusiasts is title selection,
the Request Infoline was created to help
facilitate a dialogue between distributors and consumers so the content
suppliers could better understand what
titles consumers are looking for. Each main DVD distributor has their
own section with detailed policy
information, as well as a poll booth where consumers can vote on the
titles they'd like to see released on DVD.
This information is then passed along to the distributors to consider
when formulating their DVD release
schedules.

How The Request Infoline Results Are Actually Used

The main information collected by the Infoline is recorded every month,
and then sent to each respective
distributor for consideration in planning their future DVD releases.
Needless to say, there is no guarantee that
they'll will necessarily release any or all of the titles requested
here. But, many participating studios have at
least agreed to look over the information and consider it.

Please note, though, that often we only submit the top ten or twenty
requested titles from each studio each
month. This is because it may do more harm than good for certain titles
that have very low request counts. Some
studios, however, simply use the URL themselves and check in on the
results from time to time.

In addition, many distributors (but not all) also welcome consumer
requests directly, and additional contact
information is provided in each entry. Feel free to send your personal
suggestions to a distributor using this
information.

Using The Poll Booth

Using the polling booth for each studio is really very easy. Simply
click the boxes next to each film you want to
add your request for, and click submit. Please DO NOT bother trying to
"spam" the system (i.e., vote on the
same title over and over). The polling software will update itself and
disregard multiple submissions from the
same requestor. Also, occasionally titles will be licensed to different
distributors, and in those cases all votes
will get transferred when the title is moved to a new poll booth. There
is no need to revote in those instances.

snip...

So even though its not official, Paramount will see this info some way
or another. BUT Paramount just got into DVD and I personally don't see
R&H getting released on DVD anytime soon. Even if it does get released,
I don't think we will get any extras on the disc ala footage from the
outtakes. Paramount is famous for not putting anything extra on their
Laser Discs and now with the few DVD's they have released so far, still
no extras except for a trailer.
I would love to see R&H released on DVD with the following:
>The film
>Trailers
>The making of Rattle & Hum Documentry
>Outtakes from the film such as extra songs.
>footage of me playing on stage with them! (yeah, right!)

But, as I said, I doubt this will happen anytime soon. Esp. since Joanou
is working on "Entropy".

Hope this was helpful!
