A white kid in a white Western-style hat is slouched in a folding chair
with his legs spread, blowing harmonica eyeing you. There's something
distinctly uncool about the way his legs bounce as his feet slap the
pavement. Just past him is an old black guy with a graying beard,
singing and strumming an electric guitar, eyes closed. He's sitting
behind
a jerry-riggged percussion ensemble that crashes and sizzles as he slaps
the pedals
with his feet.

"I want some freedom", he cries."Freedom for my people..."
BONO watches, intrigued; the EDGE nods in quiet sympathy.A husky black
guy in dark green Wayfaters is leaning against the wall next to the
harmonica player, listening. The music is thin, keening, uncanny; a faery
melody lilting thru a dream you'd forgotten you ever had.

THEN, SUDDENLY, THE SCREEN BEGINS TO BLEACH--FREEZING THE 2 HARLEM
STREET musicians in
mid-gesture as their song slowy fades. DIssolve to blinding white light.
You're squinting, blinking, caught in the glare of floodlights as the
camera angle shifts to
reveal:
U2 IN CONCERT before thousands of screaming fans with lit matches and
cigarette lighters held up in the darkened house. BONO is wearing a
white Western-style hat.
He's a rock star; it looks good on him. His legs dont bounce. He
grimaces as though
he feels the music. The man is cool.

The book went on to explain that the band SATAN & ADAM(Sterling Magee
and Adam Gussow)
were paid $1000 each for appearing in the movie and an additional $250
for the brief snippet of 'FREEDOM FOR MY PEOPLE" that would be included
on the soundtrack album.
They would split the songwriting royalties.

The author of the book, Adam, is the harmonica player in the band. They
play
high-energy blues and r&b.
