My U2 night :)

Whoa, I just *gotta* tell y'all about this....

So, 2 nights ago, there was nothin' to do, so I said, "Hey- Let's go to
the Chinese Theater and stick our hands in Marylin Monroe's and Frank
Sinatra's handprints!" My friends and I headed on down to Hollywood
Blvd. in L.A. As we were hangin' out around the front of Mann's Chinese
Theater (which is *precisely* where the platform stood that U2 performed
on at the opening of Rattle & Hum, might I add. Right where I was
standing! :), I heard music coming from across the street.....was
it.....nooooo, could it be? I stopped right where I was to
listen......my U2-diggin' friend Noah stopped in his tracks and looked
at me.....slowly, one by one, Beth, Trevor, Ryan and Natalie turned
their heads toward me. They knew what was coming.....

"ooooooh

myyyyyy

GOD!!!!!"

It was "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Lookin' For!!!" It was so loud,
in the air, like background music in a movie. "Where is that coming
from? Good Lord, where is it???!!!!???" It was so bitchin', BLASTING
from across the street! I grabbed Noah and we ran across Hollywood
Blvd. (ooooh- I gotta interrupt myself! They're playing One as
background music right now on Vh1) Anyway, we darted across the street
to the little store that was playin' it and listened and danced around
and my friend Beth got a picture of it all from the other side of the
street. Grooooooovy.

THEN, we're walkin' down the street and we found a big ol' Harley
Davidson and tatoo store. I couldn't help but think about Mr. Mullen
Jr. They had some awesome hats in there too, many of which were
*cowboy* hats, so, knowing dorky ol' me, I just *had* to put one on and
say, "Look- I'm THE EDGE!"

THEN, *guess* what I found in a junky little souvenier store. *Holy
shite.* You know those phony souvenier license plates that say, like,
HOLLYWOOD or I LOVE LA? Weeeeeell, I found one that says "I LOVE (it's
a heart, actually) U2. I LOVE U2! We were just walking by the store
and I wandered in (I was *drawn* in, like sucked in by a tractor beam)
while my friends were, like, "Wha--- where'd she go...what's she doing?"
I went straight to a rack full of 'em and just held it up and everyone
was like, "Whooooooa." They couldn't believe it too! Haha! I bought
that baby without hesitation. Hmmm...I shoulda bought more. More for
any crazy fans out there like me, and more in case mine gets vadalized--
you know...lotsa mean dumb-shites out there. I wanna put mine on my
car. That's OK, right? If at least one of the 2 real plates shows?
Hmmm...that's what I heard...

OH! One more thing!!! Have any of you older, wiser, over 21 year olds
been to DUBLINS Irish Whisky Pub on Sunset Blvd? Oooohhh, I wanna go
there so bad! ("Just because it's Irish, like U2 are?" I'm sure some of
you are asking. I know- isn't that silly?! But....I can't help it.)
Anyway, I wanna go. We drove by on our way and since I'm too young to
go in at the moment (damn it), I just settled for hangin' my head out
the window and let out a big "WOOOOOOOOOO HOO!" as we passed. Then on
our way home, we passed it again, and once again, I let out another big
"WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOO!" but this time wavin' my U2 plate around. :)
Hehe. That was fun. Anyway, I'm just wonderin' if any of you U2 folks
have gone. That'd be a cool place to go with a bunch of die-hard U2
fans, ya know.

Anyway, wasn't that a cool night?! That was so damn bitchin'. When I
got home, I went to bed with a smile on my face. (But I didn't dream
about U2, unfortunately.....Instead I dreamt about the Beastie Boys. Oh
well- that ain't half bad actually....) If I go back to L.A. soon, I'll
see about gettin' more of those U2 license plates, if anyone wants one.
;)

-Nikki-

P.S. Know what else? Pictures of me with my license plate are going to
be in Japan. Some tourists wanted to take pictures with us kooky
American girls, and I couldn't help but stick "I LOVE U2" in every one.
Hahaaaa! :)
