Le Big-uh Mac

I have to agree that the state of rock music has been SAD lately. Maybe
the problem is that people have forgotten that it is actualy an art. I
know that is like saying that Mcdonalds is fine cuisine, but bear with
me here. A Big Mac is actually made with natural products (bread, beef,
veggies...special sauce), but it's easy to forget that because it is so
well established that it seems to be an entity upon itself. It's fast,
cheap, and forgettable. You never hear anyone say "Remember that Big Mac
we ate last month? Boy, was that a good one!"
That's a lot like many of the modern rock groups. What artists have to
do is figure out how to create their OWN meals and forget the easy road.
I believe that is officialy the WORST analogy I have EVER made.
As for me, I'm a vegiterian. I'm having the stir fry. Actually, I can't
get enough hip-hop lately. The seismographs must be going nuts because
my brother is blasting the'No Limit Soldiers' downstairs, and I'm
grooving to the 'Refugee All Stars' upstairs. Is anyone else in love
with the Lauren Hill CD? It's truthful, and uplifting and observant just
like a U2 album. AND it makes you shake yer booty!!!
"Come on baby light my fire
Everything you drop is so tired
Music is supposed to inspire
So how come we ain't gettin no higher?"
- Lauren Hill
WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS,
Vanessa
