Re: Satanism (Inverted Cross)

Whether you like it or not, Satanism sells.

Madonna once said that she wears a crucifix because she likes the idea
of a "naked man rubbing her chest."

We all know what Marilyn Manson, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, and Black
Sabbath are up to. They aren't ashamed to admit their use of devil
imagery and they all sell well (or have sold well during their heyday).

Some people have said that KISS means Knight's In Satan's Service.

The Eagles' "Hotel California" is a song about the Satanic church.
Yet, their album of the same name was one of the best-selling albums
of all time.

Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven" has a satanic meanings in it. I
think it was this song that had a whole verse praising Satan when
played backmasked. U2 have at one point or another covered Led
Zeppelin's songs in snippet form.

Even the Beatles had some Satanic messages in come songs played
backmasked (I think "Strawberry Fields Forever").

The cover of Metallica's album is a serpent (devil imagery) and
twirling forming "666" (which is Satan's number according to the Bible
in the book of Revelations).

Well, I could go on and on. My point is that Satanism sells. U2
don't just want to write great music. They also want to sell because
that's their job. So I would not be surprised at Bono wearing the
inverted cross and playing around with it during the concert in R&H.
Most Christian religions have accepted the inverted cross as a Satanic
symbol, no question about that.

But I think we shouldn't worry about that. "Mr. Macphisto" was an
even more blatant display of devil imagery than that inverted cross.
But do all this mean that those artists actually worship the devil and
give their regular contributions to the Black Pope of Satan's church?
I doubt it. But there is no doubt to the fact that Satanism sells,
although I just can't figure out why.

Cheers,

J
