I've notice a significant amount of discussion in recent days on the
reported desire of U2 to switch over to Interscope Records and I've come
across two articles today (one of them on Wall Of Sound, the other I
_think_ was an AP story I found somewhere) which go into great detail about
the layoffs expected Thursday (which will include a significant number of
artists being released from contract) at Universal Music Group, which is
the parent company of Polygram and Island Records.

Both mentioned that U2 is reportedly eyeing Interscope records for their
new home, but no official announcement or any kind of confirmation has been
made yet.

But I suspect that an announcement should be forthcoming extremely soon,
with the layoffs expected to be announced Thursday and all, it would make
sense that the band would make their intentions known shortly.
