RE: U2 Label Switch Still Not Official or Confirmed

Hey all you Pop*Martians,

Posting usually isn't my thing, but there's two (2) things that have been
"irking" me the last week or so, and I need to speak my peace!! Here goes...
Point 1.) About a week back, someone posted that his wife had heard that U2
was going to release their Greatest Hits 1990-1999 somtime in December, and
then re-release The Joshua Tree including the tracks that didn't make it the
first time around sometime thereafter. He went on to mention that a "farewell"
tour of sorts would follow before the band, our BELOVED boys of Ireland, step
out of the lime-light and "dis-band".
Point 2.) The band is doing some form of dealing with Interscope and has
either already signed or is ready to sign a new deal with them, after all
these years with Island.
What I can't understand is, if the band is ready to "call it quits" and
retire from the rock and roll lifestyle, why would they be SO interested in
switching labels? Now, I know that none of this has been confirmed, but all of
these things seem to contradict each other in some way, shape or form! I try
to keep up on everyone's postings, so I'm sorry if missed something you all
have discussed a hundred times over! Regardless of which of these may be true,
I'm content knowing that these 4 guys are self made success stories, and have
done everything they possibly could for the fans first, world second, and
themsleves LAST! That to me, is a sign of grace & dignity! Way to go guys!
I......no, WE love you.

Michael
