U2, Bruce Springsteen Slated For Johnny Cash TV Special
The TNT Masters Series, which the cable network
launched last year with the Burt Bacharach: One
Amazing Night concert, is gearing up to pay tribute to
country outlaw Johnny Cash.
An All-Star Tribute to Johnny Cash is set to tape at
New York's Hammerstein Ballroom on April 6, and will
air on TNT later that month. U2, Bruce Springsteen,
Willie Nelson, and Lyle Lovett are all among the
artists scheduled to perform at the event.
Kris Kristofferson, Emmylou Harris, Rosanne Cash, and
Trisha Yearwood have also signed on to pay tribute to
the nine-time Grammy winner, who is in the elite
company of Elvis Presley as one of only two performers
to be in both the Country Music and Rock and Roll
Halls of Fame.
More artists are expected to join the tribute lineup
in the coming weeks.
