I went to the Zooropa concert in Werchter (May 29 1993) and had the same
experience. The concert was extremely loud (my parents could hear it from
miles and miles away), but the sound quality was bad and at the back of the
field it was impossible to understand what Bono sung/said. Only the
McPhisto bit was ok.

That was the only Zoo TV/Zooropa concert I saw, but luckily I went there
again for Popmart in '97 and the difference was *HUGE*. It wasn't nearly as
loud and the sound was crystal-clear. And in Paris '97, apart from a little
too much bass the sound was very good, even at the back of the stadium. I
think the sound benefit greatly from the stage setup, with the speakers in
the arch.

"If You Wear That Velvet Dress". 'Cause when my girlfriend does, wild
thoughts escape. <g>

Bye bye,

Steve
