Michael Hutchence 39th Bday

Hey all you U2-Heads,

I know this is a day late, but I wanted to talk about something here for a
sec. Something I'm surprised I didn't see mentioned on Wire AT ALL yesterday!
That would be the fact that yesterday (Friday) would have been Michael
Hutchence's 39th birthday. I know this is a U2 mailing list, but I tend to
rank INXS up there with U2. They may not have had as HUGE of a success story,
but none-the-less they were Australia's version of U2. I don't know how you
all felt about Michael Hutchence or INXS, but next to U2 they were probably my
next favorite group.
Yesterday afternoon our local alternative radio station (Q101 - which happens
to think VERY highly of U2, and plays them often) dedicated their daily retro-
lunch hour to Michael Hutchence and kicked it off with "Never Tear Us Apart"
and "Shine Like It Does". It was pretty sad, actually. But the station did it
tastefully, so it was also pleasing.
The MAIN reason I'm posting today, is that after they played the two INXS
songs, they announced some upcoming INXS news......

1.) It's confirmed that Michael Hutchence had recorded a solo album prior to
his passing, which will be released sometime this year.
2.) There is a documentary / movie being worked on to commemorate the life of
                Michael Hutchence.
3.) INXS does have a new lead singer and is working on some new material.
4.) There is a tribute album in the works which will be followed by a
"tribute" tour of some sort.

Pont number 4 brings me to the BIG question! Will we see U2 and or Bono
appear on this "supposed" tribute album? We all know that Bono and Michael
were good friends, and that Bono dedicated all those songs to Michael during
the PopMart tour. I can't help but think that Bono wouldn't JUMP at the chance
to be an album like that! How about U2 doing "Never Tear Us Apart"?? Oh man!
I don't want to be starting ANY rumors here, and while I can't confirm or
deny any of the news I spoke of here, all I can say in my defense is that was
what the DJ said, so I thought I'd pass it along and see if anyone else has
heard anything similar. Oh well, I just wanted to share this with you all.
Hope it creates some interesting conversations! Any insight on what INXS
song's you'd like to see U2 cover?? ;-)
HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY MICHAEL! WE MISS YOU!

"Hey I gotta go, yeah I'm runnin' outta change"
