one inexcusable U2 mistake is WOWY Popheart !

Wirelings,

I find it totally inexcusable how they could try that fadeout in WOWY
Popheart for the following reasons:

1. U2 allegedly taped all their Popmart shows. Wasn't there any better
show to choose from just in case they had a problem with how U2 ended
the song in Edmonton?

2. It totally destroys the live feel of the single, having WOWY out
then have SATS fading in. The least they would do was to put WOWY
last and not let SATS fade in so that the whole thing would have a
nice flow.

3. The three other tracks were from Rotterdam and they sound
near-perfect. The WOWY track which was in the middle of the boot has
a noticeable inferior sound quality (sounds like a muddy boot). I
have the Rotterdam boot and nothing seems t be wrong with how they did
WOWY there. Maybe they found something I didn't while they I found
something in Edmonton they didn't.

Well, I would really find it interesting this time on how the U2
loyalist-hardcore-extremists would flame me and defend U2 for this. I
won't buy the excuse that the band left it to their live studio
engineers to pick and mix and release the tracks. It is their duty to
see to it that they know exactly what their consumers are getting.

I'm not even done yet. I still have some questions: If they couldn't
find a suitable "full" Popmart version of WOWY and the best they could
find was something they had to cut in the end, why didn't they just
choose another song? If they really insisted in WOWY and every
version they played at that point didn't suit them, why didn't they
just go to the studio and overdub the wrong parts like they did with
most R&H tracks?

Cheers y'all,

J
