>James Joyce is no one to quote about Ireland. He left Ireland in >disgust
and returned only once before his death. He also wrote :
>"Ireland is the Sow that eats its own young."

Well, although what you say is right, I think he knows what he's talking
about more than anyone. He left Ireland physically, but Ireland never left
him, moreover, she obssessed and haunted him so much, that every piece of
work he wrote was about her. His love-hate relationship with Ireland (as
with the Church) and the effects it produced in his work are really
fascinating...He was so in love with her he couldn't stand her own paralysis...

Does anyone know his beautiful short story, "Araby"?
Yes, it's really gorgeous. And special to me since it connects Dublin with
Argentina... That whole book, "Dubliners" is marvellous. I recommend it to
anyone travelling to Dublin, so that you can also visit the "Joycean" places...

Silvina ---> who has only been to Ireland in her dreams, led by Bono and
Joyce by the hand...
