bono and bad

hey all:
i don't mean to be rude here, but what the heck do we care about bono's
personal or sex life? i guess it makes for good debate for some but come on
already! it's none of anybodies business! as for him possibly cheating on
ali, give it a break! if he did or didn't, noboday is going to know already
and it certainly isn't going to affect me the next time i pop in The Joshua
Tree and give it a listen! as far as all these people saying he probably did
cheat, how do you know? there are many faithful marriages out there that
last "until death do us part"! just my two cents worth!

As for the snippets that are thrown into "Bad", particularly when this was a
commom practice in the 1980's, why does there have to be any meaning to this
practice and why do the snippets have to relate to the heroin problem that
was the songs inspiration? couldn't the band have just thrown in "Ruby
Tuesday", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Walk on the Wild Side" , "Candle in the
Wind", etc... simply because they liked the songs and because maybe the
melodies fit in with those of "Bad" and was a unique way of extending the
songs and getting great enjoyment out of it along with the audience? I think
that is why it was done. all i'm saying is that there doesn't have to be
this great meaning and significance behind every single thing that U2 does.
maybe it just sounded good!

Finally, to jill: i thought your post requesting some background info on
"bad" was very nice and heartfelt. you wanted to know so you asked. i'm sure
you have had some nice responses to that request and you should know that
not all U2 fans took offense to your very sincere request. remember, new fan
or old fan, NO U2 fan is better or more knowledgeable then the next. have a
great day!

Bill
