Never would I doubt that this is the information you received from the
production office; however, when it comes to film credits and the battles
fought to determine who gets what, refer to your bible where you will find the
truth...FIRST CAME THE WORD.
You say the "writer" is Nicholas Klein (let me know if you want his earlier
writing credits) and then go on to credit the writer of the screenplay as our
revered Bono but you can't have it both ways. At this stage I believe the
credits are Story By Bono and Screenplay by Nicholas Klein.
Of course this may all change if other writers are brought in and there is a
final credit arbitration determined by the Writers Guild. Hey, would I mind
if the entire picture changes and the final credits are Story & Screenplay by
Paul Hewson? Sorry, Mr. Klein, but I was born and raised in the South and
everyone knows we are somewhat prejudiced.
If you really want to get me started bring up the subject of the writers of
lyrics (who have no protection at all in spite of our copyright laws).
Elvis was the King and he always stayed with the original lyrics. Sinatra was
great because he would credit the writers of the music and lyrics (and
sometimes the arranger) but would then proceed to screw up the words to suit
his own interpretation.
I'm sure this is boring to most of you....and I won't comment on the wires I
read that are going back and forth regarding your search for bootleg copies.
Are you not aware that when you purchase a bootleg copy there are no royalties
paid to the dudes? And isn't it our goal to support them in all matters? And
who cares who they diddle with? I hate all this shit going back and forth
involving our President. I'm embarrassed not because of anything he did but
the actions of our other politicians who have set themselves up as little
gods.
