Early Dublin gig.

I wonder if anyone can clarify a few points on this subject for me.

Many a moon ago i was playing around the London club scene and was fortunate
enough to have a quite good relationship with the Mean Fiddler organisation.
I frequently played in the accoustic room and later, with my band, the main
room.
At one of the earlier accoustic room gigs i met a man in the dressing room
in the afternoon called terry o'niel.
The rest of my band had gone for a walk to the pub and not being much of a
drinker myself, i had decided to stay in the dressing room and while away
the 2-3 hours in the company of a herbal friend.
As i was finishing one of my "Cigarettes" this chap walked in. He said he
was the press officer for the mean fiddler and was just chillin' out a bit.
The dressing room at the mean fiddler by the way is tiny. Cat swinging is
not an option.
He said he could smell what i had been up to and i thought i was about to
get into some sort of argument about it when he asked if i would mind
rolling another as he had had a busy day and could do with something to help
him relax. I said yes. What else could i say. I in fact only had enough for
one more anyway and so i would not be able to offer the rest of my band any
when they came back from the pub, but i thought, what the hell.
Terry and myself were chatting away and we got onto the subject of fave
bands. I said U2 and he proceeded to tell me about the time he booked U2
into Mcgonagles in Dublin. Well i knew enought to know that they had in fact
played there and i wasjust completely amazed. He told me a funny story about
them playing an open night to see if they were any good and then calling
them to the office where Adam proceeded to tell Mr O'Niel that they would
only play for fifteen pounds (i cant remember the exact amount but iam sure
that is what it was) Mr O'Niel said no. He would not pay them fifteen
pounds. Adam started to get a bit lippy about it and then Mr O'Niel said
that he paid his band Twenty pounds take it or leave it.
They took it.
I know the guy was genuine enough, but is the story ?

Mrs Browns washing is always the same !

NO WAR
