ISHFWILF, surely they could skip it occasionally. They can't use it as
the big thank-you song anymore. It was great in Popmart, but maybe it
should be retired before it wears out its welcome. Correct me if I am
wrong, but didn't it get dropped from the zoo tv set for a while.

....I think is was dropped from all shows after outside broadcast, which
was a fair chunk of the tour.

WOWY - It was just about the highlight of JT/Lovetown and ZooTv.
However in popmart it was almost a chance for the crowd to catch their
breath, while bono went thru the motions.

...I thought the Popmart WOWY was superb, the Zooropa version was a bit
short and half hearted - but the Popmart version was remeniscent of the
early JT Tour performances - Paris for example, where the song builds
up again at the end (listen to Santiago, for example). But I do think
that the song should be given a reast on the next tour..maybe a special
appearence now ans then.

Other of the "slow songs" come and go quickly, ie October, Running to
Stand Still, Stay and inevitably SATS are all 1 tour wonders (or close
enough to it). One won't fade away in the same way.

...Running to SS was played on JT tour, Lovetown and all the Zoo shows
y'know..

Anyone else see any of the "hits" that will fade away. Remember about 8
songs from the Popmart set list will have to go, just to make room any
new
material.

I think the following 8 should be dropped (using the Popmart set):

1 Real thing.
2 With or Without Ya
3 Last night on earth
4 Pride
5 Still haven't found
6 Discotheque
7 Velvet Dress
8 HMTMKMKM

......I reckon that some Achtung material will reappear on the next
tour, namely Zoo Station and The Fly. And I think that Electric Co. is
crying out for a end of the century re-vamp - its a gem.

So before you say - you can't drop XXXX from the set list - you have to
name at least 8 other songs to be dropped.

Good thread..
Cheers,
JIM
