I went down there yesterday (Feb.2) about 3pm to check it out. It is not in
one of your best neighborhoods, the corner of 5th and main, close to the
"Streets" video shoot. Well, this building apparently used to be an old
hotel and they have put the same Million Dollar Hotel sign on top of it. A
huge crane was out front with a cameraman on top. But it didn't seem to me
like they were shooting exteriors. He was shooting inside a window. I
think this hotel is now a soundstage. It looked like a big production, with
signs leading you to the shoot on street posts say :MDH ---->. Well,
there was some talent there because a white van with dark windows was parked
out front, the type that Bono sometimes uses. But about 7 autograph seekers
were waiting and they were definitely not U2 fans. They were the type of
autograph seekers that worked for companies that get autographs then turn
around and sell them. Anyway, I asked them if they had seen Bono and they
replied with "Who?" I said "Bono from U2?" and they said "No." So, I don't
think he was there. I couldn't really get out of the car and wait, even
though I would have been glad to and have been know to do it many times in
the past, but I had my 4 month old son with me, and you don't want your
child in the streets of downtown Los Angeles. Needless to say., I will
probably go down again when I don't have to take my son with me. Did anyone
else check it out?
