Hey All,
        Haven't posted for a while, so I thought I'd put in a few thoughts;

Best Of Tour: What songs have to go?

Personally, I think that the only songs that couldn't come out of
PopMart and go on to the next tour are the following: (taken from the
eventual setlist that took shape)

Mofo, SATS, Maimi, Discotheque (w/o the lemon and the glitz, it means
nothing) HMTMKMKM (again, it's a song about how silly the rock&roll life is,
and needs a ridiculous tour like PopMart), IYWTVD, SBS, and of course, PopMuzik.

All of their 'great' songs will never die, it's just a question of
whether or not you'll be at the show where they play them. Edge said before
PopMart got under way that 'Bad' was done and would NEVER be played again,
but they did it. I never thought I'd hear AIWIY or SBS, but they did it (In
Toronto) and although I didn't get to hear Bad, I did get to hear Bono sing
R.E.M's 'Everybody Hurts' in Toronto (10/26/97) Any other shows that can
say that? Face it, every single show that you will attend has something
special about it. I would argue that the best version of "One" is NOT the
orchestrated version, and NOT the Sydney one. It is for me from Toronto
simply because I WAS THERE!!! There wasn't any rain, no special stuff like
that but I WAS THERE. I heard it live. Everytime I watched my video of it,
it's not the same b/c I'm just watching a video, I'm not experiencing it.
Coincidently I can see myself and my 3 friends in my 10/27/97 video during
"One" b/c there's 4 lighters in a row where we were sitting (and I'm
standing by that :) )

I guess when you get right down to it (back to GH) how the shows
come is not up to us. It's what U2 wants to play, and I'll be darned if I'm
not going to see a show simply b/c they might not play my favourite song.
If I had not gone to Toronto b/c they MIGHT not play SBS, I wouldn't have
experienced it. It was amaizing, and us Toronto-goers were the "First" on
PopMart to experience this. Honestly, after hearing SBS from Sarajevo, how
many of us KNEW that they would add it to their setlist. I'd bet that we
all thought it was a one time deal b/c Sarajevo could REALLY relate to the
themes of SBS. That's what I mean when I say Toronto got the first dosage,
after all they did drop if for Tel Aviv.

                Just my thoughts,

                                Matt

PS. can we PLEASE stop this whole thing 'bout Bono's sex life? Get a life
people!
