i finally found it..... soundbites from the U2-Simpsons episode (Trash
of the Titans)
its at http://www.mshonline.com/how/current/april26/
they are all wav files. heres the ones they have featuring the boys:

spoons.wav (153K)
Adam from U2 -- "Look guys I got a Springfield spoon for my spoon
collection." The Edge -- "Oh, here we go...how many spoons have you
got now, Adam?" Adam -- "Nine, if I didn't have my spoons, I'd go
insane." Burns -- "Wankers."

u2.wav (48K)
Homer -- "Hello, Springfield! It's me, Homer." Bono -- "What the
bloody hell." Homer -- "Quiet, you."

u2wankrs.wav (125K)
Bono -- "Hold on, people, the man's talking about waste
management...that affects the whole damn planet." The Edge -- "Oh,
here we go. What do you say we go slip out to Moe's for a pint?" Adam
-- "Can I come?" The Edge -- "No." Adam -- "Wankers."

wacked.wav (191K)
Bono -- "Now, Homer, I hear Ray Patterson is a fine public servant.
Why should the people of Springfield vote for you?"
Homer -- "That's a good question, Bono. Because I'd be the most
wacked, tripped-out sanitation commissioner ever!"

a final note... correct me if i am wrong but when the episode aired
this side of the atlantic, I believe the two uses of the word
'wankers' were cut as it is an offensive word in British-English while
presumably Americans just thought it was some cute term of abuse and
aired it on daytime TV!
