RE: per Native Americans

Thanks for pointing out the obvious of who really 'discovered' America!
I grew up off the reservation and my classmates never really understood
why I would gripe at the phrase "New World" It wasn't new to us... :)

However I do prefer the term Indian to Native American...yes Indian is a
misnomer but we have gotten used to it. As far as most of us are
concerned...when we were the only Natives here this place was not called
America...after it was named America as far as we are concerned anyone
born here after that is a "Native American"...it's still a Euro-centric
term... it's not offensive...I just prefer the word Indian...I notice in
the newspaper my father receives from the reservation that the term
Indian is still used the most...

DOn't they call the Indians "First nations' or something similar in
Canada...I like that..
