You've probably got a million e-mails already, but I wanted to send one too
:) You asked for it, you get the whole story!

Unfortunately, it was never released. I posted once that it was supposed
the be the 2nd single released off of the Joshua Tree. Bono couldn't
perform that song every night, since the vocals were a little out of his
voice range and it would strain his voice too much. Of course, everyone
flamed me and said I didn't know what I was talking about. I didn't make it
up; I read it in a U2 book and people I've talked to on the internet agree
with me. You know, people who don't have a one track mind and think that U2
is absolutely perfect.

The story most people stick to is that the band wasn't happy with the video,
especially with Neil Jordan the director, who later directed Interview with
the Vampire and most recently, the movie In Dreams.

Then another story was that one of the assistants on the set accidentally
ruined the final edit. But I'm sure it's sitting in the Principle office in
Dublin, collecting dust on a shelf. Along with those other videos rumoured
to be shot, One versions 4 & 5, Zooropa & Crashed Car.

I am almost positive that Red Hill Mining Town has never, ever been seen by
anyone in the general public. I wish they would release it on video.

And no, I'm not bitter :) I think I've just had enough of Wire flaming me
for just about everything.
