I was listening to "Walk to the Water" last night and reflecting on the
line "your legs were cross, your arms wide open" and thinking, for the
twentieth time, what a strange image this is. Then it hit me where I've
seen this before. Jesus on the cross. Anyone else think of this or care
to comment?

Pretty insightful. Ironically I was listening to that song last night and
that verse stuck out. I didn't come to your conclusion but I just thought
about it briefly. I wouldn't doubt it if he had that in mind when he sang it

I hope to God that U2 play "A Sort Of Homecoming" in their next tour....I
absolutely adore that song. "In God's Country" is my other fave that I
never hear them play live.

There is a cool version of in God's country on Rattle & Hum and ther is a
cool version of "Sort of.." on "Wide Awake in America"

Paint it Black is also played at the end of "Devil's Advocate." And the
Stones version is better. I always feel it is hard for a remake to surpass
the original. Maybe it is just me, but I always value the original artist
more just because it is thiers.

Any thoughts on which U2 covers surpass or come short of the original?
I never heard the original Dancing Barefoot but U2's version is awesome.

See ya - Mark
