Definitely, Bono's line "Well, tonight thank God it's them instead
of you" is the highlight of the song. Bono still had his full vocal
range and he sings this part like he would do the "Wide Awake" segment
in Bad, or the choruses of Pride (circa 1984) or the chorus of Red
hill Mining Town.

Bono also sings "And the Christmas bells that ring there/ Are the
clanging chimes of doom" right before the line I mentioned in the
previous paragraph. In these two line, Sting is backing up Bono, and
as many people have said, ther voices are a perfect compliment to each
other. I wish they could do a collaboration someday (even if their
voices aren't in their physical primes anymore).

Also, much has been said about the song, but did you all know that
Adam Clayton played bass in this song? Yes he did!

I have the single of the song and it contains the original
version and the 12 inch version. The 12 inch version has a part where
all the members of Band-Aid introdue themselves and Bono says "hi,
this is Bono, singer of U2 wishing you a happy Christmas and a merry
new year."

The single is highly recommended. it is like the USA for Africa
but is only better. The lineup of artists are much stronger. Among
them are Phil Collings, Bob Geldof, Bono, Adam, Sting, Christopher
Cross, John Taylor, Simon Lebon, George Michael, Boy George, Nick
Rhodes, Johnny Fingers, the singers of Spandau Ballet and Big Country,
and many many more, with special appearances by paul McCartney and
David Bowie. The problem is that I don't know where you can find that
single now.

Cheers,

J
