Re:It's STILL about the music!

Greetings Wirelings! I am new to the Wire, and I was not planning on posting,
since I usually just want to read what other U2 fans have to say. I never
know much worth posting anyway. Which is exactly my point. To me, being a U2
fan has never been about how many times I've seen them live or how many
bootlegs I've got, it will always be about the way I felt when I first heard
"One" and was hooked on Bono's voice. It's about hearing that same voice pour
out "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" last April in San Diego
during POPMart. It's listening to "If God Will Send His Angels" on perpetual
repeat because that song just haunts me. So what if I don't have 20 million
bootlegs or if I couldn't afford to follow the boys clear around the world.
Who cares that I haven't been a die hard fan since before Joshua Tree because
I too was not even a teenager back then and unfortunately had Paula Abdul in
the cassette player? The point is that the music of U2 found me and hasn't
let me go since. I may never get to meet Bono (although God knows I'd like
to!) but that doesn't keep my love of the music down for a second!

Just my 2 cents (thanks for reading),
M. "don't let the bastards grind you down"
